I take this opportunity to welcome you to the American Image Theatre Company website. American Image Theatre Company is a California not for profit corporation 501(c) (3) founded by Julio V. Sosa Jr., in 1991.
Who Are We?
American Image is a nonprofit public benefit corporation and is not organized for the private gain of any person. It is organized under the Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation Law for charitable purposes. The specific purpose for which organized are: Educational purpose to provide theatrical performances, workshops, lectures, instrucitons in the performing arts. Literary purpose to promote the theatre arts, playwrights, and composers. Chartiable purpose to provide the public quality entertainment at a reasonable cost, provide scholarships in the performing arts, and to promote the welfare of performing and technical artist.

What's Going On!
American Image is currently looking for rehearsal and performance space, at low or no cost. We are planning a fundraiser to benefit veterans and members of the Armed Forces later this year.
Our last event was in May 2005, "A TRIBUTE TO THOSE WHO SERVERED", a photo exhibit honoring those who served in the military. The American Legion was vital in us obtaining space at the San Francisco War Memorial, kudos to Commander Vince Rios and American Legion War Memorial Commissioner Rudy Asercion for their help and support. Behind the Scenes
Founding Member Spencer Chandler
Spencer is the Artistic Director and founder of Cannery Works in New York City. This innovated community based arts program offers support to new artists in all media. A platform for the arts, it encourages pro-active community-minded participation and audiences are invited to contribute a can of food - or one dollar to a hunger relief fund - at all their events. Cannery Works enjoys a mutually supportive relationship with The Food Bank for New York City and since their founding; artists and audiences have contributed over 500 cans of food. Founder and CEO Julio V. Sosa Jr.
Julio founded the American Image Theatre Company in 1991. With little resources he was able to incorporate the company as a not for profit corporation in California doing all the research and legal work himself. Julio graduated from Lowell High School and enlisted in the United States Army in 1974. After leaving the service in 1984, he worked at the Presidio of San Francisco Directorate of Personnel and Community Activities until the closure of the U.S. Army Garrison, Presidio of San Francisco in 1995. He holds an Associate Degree in Community Service from San Francisco City College, which he attended using his G.I. Bill. He also attended San Francisco State University majoring in Latin American Studies and Mental Health. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of the State of New York. Julio has worked at Swords to Plowshares, a veterans' right organization, in San Francisco for over 7 years and is currently looking into new opportunities.
